Review: Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hour Cream Gel Shadow by Maybelline

Hello Dolls! This will be my indepth review on the Color Tattoo's by Maybelline. This post will be on the peremanent collection, and I will do another post on the fall collection. The Price of these cream shadows range between $5.45-$8, depending on where you live and what drugstore/walmart you go to. These shadows are a MUST HAVE in your collection. It is one of my personal Holy Grail items. They are so easy to swipe on the lid and go, no primer needed. Best part? They DO NOT crease!!! So many drugstore cream shadows you will need to use both a eyeshadow primer and eyeshadow to set the cream shadow. With these I have no complaint really.

What is Claims:
24hr intensity. Tattoo tenacity. Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow.
• Our ink technology creates super-saturated color.
• Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade.
• In 10 shades.

If you are running late or not the best at applying make-up, this product is for you. They really do stay all day, and all night. I slept with them on my eyes and swatches on my arms, and they stay there. However, they do faded throughout the day, so you might have to reapply before you go out, but no big. If you decided to use it as an eyeshadow base there will be no fading at all. The Color Tattoo's give the shadows a new look when underneath them. That's how I personally love to use them.
The texture of the product is very creamy and I love it! Like any other cream product, it does become a little dry. With the warmth of your finger the product will soften up and it will be like new again. It still stays easy to apply. You can really sheer out the product or build it up. It is really up to your preference on how you want it to look.

The first color I own is called Bad to the Bronze. In the swatch above, I made it very dark to show it can have a lot of intensity. I think this shadow looks great alone with a little bit of liner. You can surely sheer it out to make it look like what's in the container. It looks very pretty underneath bronze shadows, browns, golds, and even greens. It gives a cool olive effect. This has to be my go to "lazy day" make-up products.
Again, I did build the color up for a more intense look. So this color is Tough as Taupe, and it is obviously a taupe! This has more of purple undertones than most greys, because it is a taupe color. I haven't really worn this much because I usually wear taupes in the fall and winter. I have used it as a soft gel liner and I thought it was great and really nice. I've tested it out, and it looks wonderful underneath silvers, gunmetal's, and cool purples. Makes gorgeous smokey eyes.

Too Cool is the perfect white base!!!!! If you did it right you can wear it just by itself, but I'm not into the "just bold white" look. I like to wear this with a light lid and a dark crease, and a light dust of champagne with pink undertones over Too Cool. This really reminds me a lot of the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Cottage Cheese. Because this is not a matte white. If you want your shadows to pop with color like crazy use this and you get insane payoff! Purple, green, blue, pink, brown, yellow, and everything else in the rainbow will be gorgeous! You can really go from simple, everyday neutral looks to fun color looks.

Overall, I give this a 4.8 out of 5 stars! Like I said before, Color Tattoo's are my Holy Grail items. However, they do fade. The claims said the would not fade, and they do so that's why I can not give it a 5 out of 5. They are pretty much fool proof.  You can use fingers or a brush. Because most brushes are made from animal hair, cream and liquid products will ruin the brush. So just remember to use a concealer or synthetic brush and you will be alright. Also, remember to blend any harsh lines right away. Because these do dry very quickly. When storing, close the cap really tight and and store upside down(or like the first picture of the post).

If you have any questions or requests please comment down below. If you want to know more about brushes or bases I will be more than happy to write a post about it (:

    1. You are seriously making my day with all these comments (: <3 You need to get them! Especially Barely Beige before it is all out, since it is limited edition! Major favorite this month!

  2. I didn't like this product that much, the only thing that I liked is that it is kind of creamy, the color that I chose was permanent taupe, and it looks nice in the jar, but it looks a lot darker and like a bad bruise in my eyes, and besides, it doesn't last 24 hours, at all :/

    1. Try some of the other colors. I will say Tough as Toupe is a little tricky to use, I prefer to use it underneath shadows. But maybe if you use Bad to the Bronze or try to find a light gold color in the new spring 2013 collection coming out soon it'll be nice. These shadows usually last all day for me and if I forget to take them off even into the morning.
